MALIA

Malia is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at Simon Fraser University, majoring in Linguistics with a minor in Educational Psychology, alongside a certificate in Speech Sciences. She plans to further her education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, aiming to deepen her expertise and contribute meaningfully to the field.

For the past several years, Malia has worked as a Behaviour Interventionist (BI) with children on the autism spectrum. In her role, she is committed to creating a gentle, inclusive, and fun environment where children can thrive, not only in their learning but in their ability to truly be themselves. Malia prioritizes a child-centered approach, recognizing the unique strengths and needs of each individual she works with.

Malia also has experience working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, and she is passionate about helping children find their voice through alternative methods of communication. She is dedicated to ensuring that every child, regardless of their communication challenges, has the opportunity to express themselves and participate fully in their world.
